How today's modern figure resemble Christina Rossetti

When you look at Christina Rossetti’s poems and her life, it is often filled with ties to religion, sadness, and pessimistic love. Throughout her life she never married but was involved with two men who failed to meet up to her expectations. Since she never married and was somewhat of a pessimistic, she strongly resembles the late writer, Octavia E. Butler.

( 5 December 1830 - 29 December 1894)    ( 22 June, 1947 - 24 February, 2006)

Much like Christina Rossetti, Octavia E. Butler never married and she was a writer. One thing that had set Octavia Butler apart from the rest of the writers was that she was African-American, and at that, she was a science-fiction writer.

They both set their own paths in life, writing about their passion and questions that life brings to them. Butler wrote more about the issues of race and gender, while Rossetti more about faith and life.

The following YouTube video was based on a few wordings by Octavia Butler and what encouraged her to start writing.
